Launching the Mysuru and Srirangapatna Guidebook

The Regiment de Meuron and its connection to the Deccan

Lectures on the work of John M. Fritz at Hampi Vijayanagara

The Lotus Mahal at Hampi Vijayanagara

 

The late Dr. John M. Fritz was the first American archaeologist to survey the ruins of Hampi Vijayanagara. Building on more than twenty years of fieldwork during the 1980s and 1990s, he concluded that the Hindu god Rama dominated the layout of  Vijayanagara’s Royal Centre. Dr. George Michell gave a lecture on this innovative interpretation in Bengaluru earlier this month and will be speaking in Mumbai and Hampi early next year.
