Akhila Udayashankar
Akhila Udayashankar is a senior conservation architect with over 15 years of work experience. A graduate in Architecture with a master’s degree in Architectural conservation from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, she has a collective professional experience in building conservation, adaptive reuse, planning and management of heritage sites (including world heritage management) and archaeological sites.
Akhila is a senior associate with Heritage Matters, a firm that specializes in architectural conservation, conservation management and planning, research and documentation, museums and interpretation with projects primarily in the Deccan region in peninsular India.
She also has been involved in listing, restoration and documentation work with organizations such as INTACH, ASI and IHCN-F and has also assisted author Rekha Rao in editing her Indological publications.
Akhila has been closely associated with the Deccan Heritage Foundation India, since 2015.
